I/O psych, tests and measures, employee selection ability?

Was there a study done that showed most managers verbal interviewing technique was no better at selecting employees than random selection?

Not that I know of, but I would guess that is likely based upon my experience.

Every single hiring manager I have seen only hired either…

1) a member of the opposite sex they were willing to date…………………or

2) a member of the same sex whom they were willing to buddy with
